Inventory Officer
Job summary
The Inventory Officer manages store inventory, covering stock control, storage, and issuance of materials. Key duties include maintaining optimal stock levels, tracking inventory, ensuring accurate records, and preventing both stockouts and overstocking. The role works closely with other departments to support smooth operations and efficient supply
Job descriptions & requirements
- Receive, inspect, and record incoming materials against purchase orders (quantity, quality, condition)
- Monitor stock levels and movements; conduct regular stock counts
- Update the ERP system with all transactions, adjustments, and movements
- Coordinate with procurement on timely replenishment orders
- Prepare weekly reports: receipts, issuances, opening and closing balances, variances
- Investigate and resolve record discrepancies promptly
- Work with departments to forecast needs and apply inventory control best practices
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulations.
Requirement:
- OND in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field
- 1 year in inventory, stores, warehouse, or logistics operations is an added advantage.
- Internship, NYSC placement, or volunteer experience in stock handling counts
- Prior exposure to ERP or inventory software is an advantage
