Inventory & Logistics Officer
Job summary
The Inventory & Logistics Officer is responsible for the effective management, control, movement, and accountability of all rental inventory and logistics activities within Dates & Events Ltd. The role ensures that rental items are accurately tracked, properly maintained, efficiently deployed, a safely returned.

Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate inventory records for all rental assets and equipment.
- Track inventory movement from dispatch to return.
- Conduct routine stock counts and inventory audits.
- Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
- Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or excesses.
- Track damaged, missing, or obsolete items.
Logistics Coordination:
- Plan and coordinate daily deliveries, pickups, and transfers.
- Schedule and supervise logistics operations.
- Coordinate truck drivers and logistics personnel.
- Ensure timely deployment and retrieval of rental equipment.
- Optimize delivery routes and logistics efficiency.
Warehouse Operations:
- Oversee receiving, storage, loading, and unloading activities.
- Ensure proper organization and storage of inventory.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness, safety, and operational standards.
- Supervise warehouse support personnel where applicable.
Asset Accountability:
- Ensure all rental items are properly documented before dispatch and upon return.
- Monitor asset utilization and availability.
- Coordinate repair, maintenance, and replacement of damaged assets.
- Implement measures to reduce inventory loss and damage.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare inventory reports and logistics performance reports.
- Maintain dispatch records, waybills, inventory logs, and reconciliation reports.
- Track logistics costs and operational efficiency.
- Provide regular updates to management on inventory status.
Requirements:
- Minimum of HND in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory management, logistics, warehousing, or supply chain operations.
- Experience within an event rental company, logistics company, warehouse, hospitality, or similar operational environment is highly desirable.
- Strong inventory control and warehouse management skills.
- Excellent planning and coordination abilities.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory management systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
