Job summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-orientated Internal Auditor to join a fast-growing supermarket and restaurant chain. The ideal candidate must possess strong experience in retail, hospitality, inventory control, financial auditing, and operational compliance. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating internal controls, reducing financial risks, preventing fraud, and ensuring operational efficiency across multiple outlets.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine and surprise audits across supermarket and restaurant branches
  • Review financial records, cash handling procedures, and inventory management systems
  • Monitor compliance with company policies and operational standards
  • Identify fraud risks, leakages, and control weaknesses
  • Prepare detailed audit reports with actionable recommendations
  • Evaluate stock movements, wastages, procurement, and vendor transactions
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Investigate discrepancies and support management with risk assessments
  • Monitor POS transactions and operational procedures across locations
  • Collaborate with management to improve internal controls and efficiency


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum of 4–8 years' experience as an Internal Auditor in supermarket, retail, FMCG, or restaurant operations
  • Strong knowledge of auditing principles, inventory control, and financial reporting
  • Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, CIA, or ICAN is an added advantage
  • Excellent analytical and investigative skills
  • Strong attention to detail and integrity
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/audit software
  • Ability to work independently and travel across branch locations when required


Preferred Candidate Profile:

  • Experience auditing multi-branch businesses
  • Strong understanding of retail operations and stock management
  • Ability to detect operational inefficiencies and fraud risks
  • Excellent reporting and communication skill
