ABOUT THE ROLE
A growing paint manufacturing, marketing and distribution company, seeks an experienced HR Lead to establish, coordinate and supervise its human-resource function across its manufacturing and commercial locations.
The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational HR leadership, develop effective workforce systems and ensure that employee-management responsibilities are handled through a professional HR structure.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and implement an HR strategy aligned with the company’s objectives.
• Review internal processes and maintain an effective organizational structure and organogram.
• Lead workforce planning, recruitment, selection, onboarding and employee placement.
• Supervise the Human Resource Officer and other assigned HR personnel.
• Develop job descriptions, departmental responsibilities and employee KPIs.
• Establish and manage performance-appraisal and employee-confirmation systems.
• Develop and implement HR policies, the employee handbook and conditions of service.
• Oversee attendance, leave, payroll inputs, employee records and HR technology.
• Manage employee grievances, investigations, disciplinary matters and workplace disputes.
• Coordinate staff training, leadership development and employee engagement.
• Advise management on staffing, performance, employee relations and HR compliance.
• Prepare HR reports and monitor turnover, absenteeism, recruitment, performance and workforce costs.
• Ensure compliance with applicable employment, pension and employee-compensation requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Psychology or a related discipline.
• Minimum of five years’ progressive HR experience, including at least two years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Professional HR certification or CIPM membership is strongly preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, distribution or another multi-location operational business is desirable.
• Demonstrated experience in organizational development, recruitment, performance management, employee relations and HR policy implementation.
