Job summary

We are looking for an experienced HR Consultant to head our HR consulting practice. This role is responsible for delivering strategic and operational HR solutions to clients across diverse industries, overseeing client engagements, leading the consulting team, and building HR frameworks.

Responsibilities:

HR Consulting:

  • Oversee HR consulting projects from kickoff through delivery.
  • Carry out HR audits, organizational reviews, and workforce assessments.
  • Create and roll out HR policies, procedures, and staff handbooks.
  • Build organizational structures, job descriptions, competency models, and career pathways.
  • Establish performance management systems, KPIs, and appraisal processes.
  • Design pay structures, conduct salary benchmarking, and develop grading systems.
  • Advise clients on employee relations matters, disciplinary procedures, and HR best practices.
  • Assist clients with recruitment and talent acquisition needs.
  • Coordinate onboarding and orientation programmes for client organizations.
  • Guide clients on compliance with Nigerian labour laws and HR regulations.
  • Build succession planning and talent management frameworks.


Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and mentor HR Associates.
  • Assign project work and track team performance.
  • Review team deliverables, reports, and presentations before client submission.
  • Coach team members to maintain high service standards.
  • Lead regular team meetings and performance evaluations.


Business Development:

  • Spot opportunities to grow the firm's HR consulting offerings.
  • Draft technical and commercial proposals for potential clients.
  • Take part in client pitches, presentations, and meetings.
  • Cultivate and sustain strong client relationships.
  • Contribute to marketing efforts through HR thought leadership content, webinars, and events.


Project Management:

  • Create project plans and timelines.
  • Ensure engagements stay within scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Produce project reports and presentations for clients.
  • Handle multiple consulting engagements at once.


Training & Development:

  • Design and deliver HR and management training programmes.
  • Develop training materials and workshop content.
  • Provide executive coaching and management development support as needed.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Psychology, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline.
  • A Master's degree is an advantage.
  • Professional Certifications (one or more preferred): CIPM, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, HRCI (PHR/SPHR), CIPD, or other relevant HR certifications
  • 6–8 years of progressive HR experience.
  • Minimum 3 years in HR consulting or a similar advisory capacity.
  • Proven track record leading HR projects and managing teams.
  • Multi-industry client experience is a plus.
