Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day pastoral care and supervision for boarding students, ensuring their safety, welfare, and wellbeing at all times.
- Supervise student daily routines, including wake-up, meals, prep/study time, and lights-out.
- Foster a warm, disciplined, and home-like environment within the boarding house.
- Monitor students' physical and emotional wellbeing, and promptly escalate any health or welfare concerns.
- Enforce boarding house rules and standards of conduct in line with the school's policies.
- Liaise closely with the Head of Boarding, parents/guardians, and school management on matters concerning the students in their care.
- Supervise prep/study sessions and support students with organisation and time management.
- Be available on call to attend to students' needs, including during weekends and after regular school hours, in line with the boarding duty roster
Requirements:
- A minimum of a first-degree (bachelor's degree)/HND in any discipline from a recognised institution.
- Prior experience working in a boarding house or a similar pastoral care role is an advantage.
- A caring, patient, and nurturing disposition, with genuine interest in the welfare of adolescent girls.
- Strong sense of responsibility, integrity, and sound judgement.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with students and parents.
- Willingness to reside on or near the school premises and to work a boarding duty roster, including evenings and weekends.
- First aid training/certification is an advantage.
Remuneration: NGN 150,000 - 250,000
