Hotel Porter

Responsibilities:

Guest Assistance:

• Welcome guests upon arrival with a friendly and professional attitude
• Assist guests with carrying luggage to and from rooms
• Escort guests to their rooms and explain room features and hotel facilities
• Provide directions and information about hotel services and local areas

Front Entrance & Lobby Support:

• Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the entrance and lobby area
• Open doors for guests and assist with arrivals and departures
• Ensure trolleys and luggage carts are clean and available

Luggage Handling:

• Properly tag, handle, and store guest luggage when necessary
• Ensure safe and careful handling of guest belongings
• Deliver luggage promptly and efficiently

Support to Front Office:

• Assist the reception team during busy periods
• Run errands within the hotel (e.g., delivering messages, documents, or items to rooms)
• Help in coordinating guest requests

Safety & Security:

• Monitor activities around the entrance and report suspicious behavior
• Ensure guest property is handled securely
• Follow hotel safety procedures at all times

Requirements:

• Minimum of SSCE or equivalent
• Previous experience in a hotel or customer service role is an advantage
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy luggage
• Basic understanding of hotel operations
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Friendly and customer-focused attitude
• Physical strength and stamina
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure
• Polite and well-mannered
• Neat and well-groomed appearance
• Reliable and punctual
• Helpful and proactive

Working Conditions:

• Requires standing for long periods
• Shift work, including weekends and holidays
• Frequent interaction with guests
