Role Overview
The Health Associate is a frontline healthcare support role within the Family Doctor Program, responsible for delivering basic, non-invasive health checks, supporting household-level healthcare awareness, and ensuring that families actively participate in preventive health practices.
This role is designed to bridge the gap between households and professional healthcare by enabling early detection, basic monitoring, and continuous health education within communities.
The Health Associate operates under the supervision of a Family Doctor Representative and plays a critical role in executing the Company’s mission to reduce avoidable hospital visits through early intervention and awareness.
Key Responsibilities1. Household Health Support
The Health Associate will visit assigned households and provide routine, non-invasive health checks while guiding families on how to monitor their health.
This includes:
- Conducting basic health measurements such as:
- Blood Pressure (BP)
- Oxygen saturation (Oximeter)
- Weight and height
- BMI calculation
- Explaining results in simple, understandable terms
- Identifying early warning signs that may require medical attention
2. Health Education and Awareness
The Health Associate is responsible for educating families on preventive healthcare practices and healthy living.
This includes:
- Teaching households how to monitor their own health
- Promoting lifestyle habits that reduce health risks
- Encouraging consistency in routine health checks
- Supporting the training of the Family Health Respondent within each household
3. Family Doctor Program Support
The Health Associate supports the implementation and growth of the Family Doctor Program by ensuring households are properly onboarded and engaged.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting in onboarding new families
- Ensuring families complete required training
- Following up with households to ensure continued participation
- Supporting the Representative in achieving growth targets
4. Data Collection and Reporting
Accurate data collection is essential to the program.
The Health Associate is expected to:
- Record all health readings correctly
- Maintain organized records of household visits
- Submit daily or weekly reports as required
- Flag any abnormal readings or concerns immediately
5. Community Engagement
The Health Associate plays an active role in building trust within the community.
This includes:
- Representing the program professionally at all times
- Engaging respectfully with families and community members
- Supporting outreach and awareness campaigns when required
6. Compliance and Professional Conduct
The Health Associate must operate within defined boundaries and maintain high ethical standards.
This includes:
- Not diagnosing diseases or prescribing medication
- Referring serious or unclear cases to qualified medical professionals
- Following all Company protocols and guidelines
- Maintaining confidentiality of all household health information
Work Structure
- Employment Type: Full-Time
- Reporting To: Family Doctor Representative
- Work Style: Field-based (community and household visits)
- Schedule: Structured but may require flexibility based on community needs
Required Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate should demonstrate a balance of basic health knowledge, people skills, and reliability.
Minimum Requirements
- Secondary school completion (higher education in health-related fields is an advantage)
- Basic understanding of health and wellness concepts
- Ability to use simple health devices (training will be provided)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read, write, and maintain records

- Background in healthcare, community work, or caregiving

Training and Development
All Health Associates will undergo doctor-led structured training before deployment, covering:
- Use of health monitoring devices

- Communication with households
- Reporting and data management
- Program guidelines and limitations
Continuous learning and periodic refresher training will also be provided.
Performance Expectations
Success in this role will be measured based on:
- Number of households actively supported

The Health Associate is not a doctor and must not:
- Diagnose medical conditions
- Prescribe treatments or medication
