Job summary
The Head, Performance Management, is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving the organization’s performance management framework. The role ensures effective performance appraisal processes, drives talent and leadership development initiatives, and supports workforce planning to align employee performance.

Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage performance management frameworks that enhance productivity, accountability, and employee engagement.
- Oversee the end-to-end performance appraisal cycle, ensuring fairness, consistency, and alignment with organizational goals.
- Develop and execute performance-driven talent initiatives, including career progression frameworks, succession planning, and leadership development programs.
- Collaborate with department heads to establish clear performance goals and ensure effective goal-setting across the organization.
- Monitor, analyze, and report key HR performance metrics such as productivity trends, performance ratings, and employee engagement indicators.
- Facilitate training, coaching, and performance improvement programs for employees and people managers.
- Provide guidance to managers on managing performance gaps and implementing performance improvement plans (PIPs).
- Ensure compliance with labour laws, internal policies, and best practices relating to performance management and employee relations.
- Oversee consequence management processes, including performance-related disciplinary actions, in line with company policy.
- Prepare and present performance insights, reports, and recommendations to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in performance management, talent development, or HR leadership roles.
- Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) Nigeria, or commitment to obtain within two years.
- Professional certifications in performance management, HR analytics, or leadership development are an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of performance management frameworks and HR best practices.
- Proven leadership, coaching, and people management capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in HR systems, data analytics tools, and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professional judgment.
- Strong interpersonal, conflict-resolution, and stakeholder management skills.
- Detail-oriented, strategic thinker with strong team spirit and organizational awareness.
