Head of Quality Assurance

Position Overview

TEDxMaitama is seeking a highly detail-oriented, systems-driven, and excellence-focused professional to serve as Head of Quality Assurance. This role is responsible for maintaining and improving the quality, consistency, professionalism, and overall experience across all TEDxMaitama programs, events, partnerships, communications, and operations.


The ideal candidate will ensure that every aspect of TEDxMaitama reflects world-class standards aligned with the global TEDx brand while supporting the organization’s vision of becoming one of Africa’s leading platforms for ideas, innovation, leadership, and transformative conversations.


Key Responsibilities

Quality Standards & Compliance

  • Develop and implement quality assurance systems, frameworks, and operational standards across TEDxMaitama activities
  • Ensure all event experiences, communications, partnerships, and productions align with TEDx brand guidelines and organizational standards
  • Establish SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), checklists, and quality control processes for all departments

Speaker & Content Quality

  • Review speaker preparation processes and presentation quality
  • Support speaker coaching, rehearsals, and content refinement
  • Ensure talks maintain clarity, originality, relevance, credibility, and TEDx standards
  • Monitor stage flow, presentation timing, and content consistency during events

Event Experience & Operations

  • Oversee quality control for audience experience, venue setup, hospitality, branding, technical production, and event execution
  • Conduct pre-event inspections and post-event evaluations
  • Identify operational gaps and recommend improvements

Brand & Communication Review

  • Review marketing materials, graphics, social media content, emails, presentations, videos, and public communications before release
  • Ensure consistency in messaging, professionalism, grammar, visual identity, and brand positioning

Monitoring, Reporting & Improvement

  • Track quality performance metrics and team deliverables
  • Collect feedback from attendees, speakers, sponsors, volunteers, and partners
  • Prepare post-event quality reports with recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Lead internal quality review meetings and accountability processes

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Event Planning, Partnerships, Media, Speaker Relations, Operations, and Strategy teams
  • Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement within the organization

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Communications, Event Management, Operations, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3–5 years experience in quality assurance, operations management, project management, event production, or organizational excellence roles
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple teams and deadlines effectively
  • Experience working with premium brands, conferences, media platforms, or international organizations is an advantage

  • Event execution quality score
  • Audience satisfaction ratings
  • Speaker preparation and rehearsal completion rate
  • Brand consistency across communication channels
  • Sponsor and partner satisfaction
  • Timeliness and operational efficiency
  • Reduction in execution errors and operational lapses


Reporting Line

The Head of Quality Assurance reports directly to the Convener and Executive Leadership of TEDxMaitama.
