Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership:
- Oversee daily operations across all Tingo AI Hub departments, ensuring alignment with company goals and KPIs.
- Implement systems, processes, and performance metrics that drive efficiency, scalability, and accountability.
- Supervise the management of the 2MW AI factory (and future 20MW expansion), ensuring uptime, reliability, and optimal GPU utilization.
- Coordinate internal resources to support TingoGPT, Tingo AI Radio, and other AI product initiatives.
Strategic Execution:
- Translate the CEO’s strategic vision into executable operational plans.
- Manage annual operating plans, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Develop policies and procedures to streamline operations across technical and non-technical teams.
- Lead the planning and rollout of new facilities, infrastructure, and technology deployments.
Process Optimisation:
- Identify and implement automation, AI-driven process improvements, and workflow optimisation.
- Monitor and analyse performance data to improve productivity and service delivery.
- Ensure operational compliance with safety, regulatory, and data governance standards.
Team & People Management:
- Build and lead cross-functional teams focused on operational excellence, logistics, and program delivery.
- Mentor department heads and ensure strong communication across the organisation.
- Foster a culture of performance, accountability, and innovation.
Partnerships & Vendor Relations:
- Manage relationships with key technology vendors, contractors, and service providers.
- Oversee procurement, logistics, and supply chain management for infrastructure and hardware needs.
- Support partnership execution with universities, enterprises, and government stakeholders.
Financial & Administrative Oversight:
- Monitor budgets, operational costs, and financial performance.
- Support the finance team in developing forecasts, investment plans, and reporting.
- Ensure efficient utilisation of resources across all programs and departments.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in operations, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role in a technology, AI, or data infrastructure environment.
- Proven track record of scaling operations in fast-growing organisations.
- Strong project management, strategic planning, and process improvement skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities.
- Experience managing technical facilities (e.g., data centres, innovation labs, or R&D hubs) is a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with Nigerian and global technology ecosystems.
