Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

Financial Operations & Control:

  • Oversee end-to-end financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
  • Ensure accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial statements and management reports
  • Implement strong internal controls across all financial processes
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and capital allocation strategies


Risk Management & Compliance:

  • Identify financial and operational risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory, tax, and statutory requirements
  • Strengthen governance frameworks and financial control systems
  • Liaise with external auditors, regulators, and financial institutions


Audit & Assurance:

  • Lead internal audit processes and coordinate external audit engagements
  • Drive audit readiness and ensure zero material audit findings
  • Establish and maintain robust audit trails and documentation standards
  • Implement best practices from corporate assurance environments


Strategic Finance & Business Partnering:

  • Provide financial insights to support executive decision-making and investment strategies
  • Evaluate project viability, ROI, and financial performance of real estate developments
  • Partner with leadership on business expansion, cost optimization, and profitability
  • Support funding strategies, investor reporting, and financial structuring


Strategic Finance & Business Partnering (Additional Points):

  • Develop and manage cash flow forecasting models to ensure adequate liquidity and support business growth objectives.
  • Lead treasury management activities and optimize working capital across the organization.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, investors, and financial institutions to support funding requirements.
  • Support debt raising, project financing, and other capital-raising initiatives for real estate and construction projects.
  • Assess financing options and provide recommendations on the most effective funding structures for business growth.


Risk Management & Business Resilience:

  • Develop financial contingency plans to safeguard the organization during periods of economic uncertainty or operational disruption.
  • Identify emerging financial risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies to protect business continuity.
  • Support executive management during crises through scenario planning, financial modeling, and strategic decision support.


Process Improvement & Leadership:

  • Build and optimize scalable financial systems and reporting frameworks
  • Lead and mentor finance team members to deliver high performance
  • Drive continuous improvement across finance, audit, and risk functions


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Professional certification required (e.g., ACA, ACCA)
  • Minimum of 6–10 years’ experience in finance, audit, or risk management
  • Strong preference for candidates with Big 4 experience (KPMG, PwC, Deloitte, EY)
  • Experience in real estate, construction, or investment environments is highly desirable
  • Strong expertise in financial reporting, audit, and internal controls
  • Deep understanding of risk management and corporate governance frameworks
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment


Remuneration: NGN 1,500,000
