Head of Commercial (MEP & Engineering)
Are you a strategic commercial leader with a deep footprint in the MEP sector? We are looking for a Head of Commercial to steer our tendering, quantity surveying, and contract management functions.
As a key member of the leadership team, you will ensure our mechanical and MEP projects (HVAC, Fire Systems, Plumbing) are priced for precision and managed for maximum profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Tendering: Lead end-to-end bidding processes for large-scale mechanical and MEP projects.
- Precision Estimating: Oversee the preparation and review of comprehensive BOQs and cost estimates.
- Commercial Governance: Manage the full contract lifecycle—including variations, claims, and final accounts—while mitigating risk.
- Cost Leadership: Drive rigorous cost control and margin protection across all project phases.
- Team Mentorship: Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing team of Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers.
What You Bring
- Experience: 10+ years of proven commercial leadership within the Engineering or MEP industries.
- Technical Mastery: Deep expertise in mechanical tenders, MEP-specific BOQs, and complex procurement.
- Education: Degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Credentials: Professional certification (NIQS/RICS) is highly preferred.
- Acumen: Strong negotiation skills and a solid grasp of construction law and contracts.
