Responsibilities:
- Establish beneficial contact with media houses in support of the company’s corporate goals and objectives
- Review draft articles, conference papers, speeches prepared for publication, press briefings, conferences and other related events
- Ensure the adequacy of media coverage at the company’s internal and external activities
- Ensure that the Executive Management team timeously receives daily media summaries of relevant company and industry development Proactively engage the media to avoid negative publicity.
- Participate in conflict resolution process to appropriately project the company’s corporate image
- Ensure the availability of up-to-date information (i.e. the note of a databank) of information from newspapers, magazines, and articles that may be of importance to the company
- Ensure the prompt circulation of information from Head Office, to all staff via the intranet/portal
- Liaise with units/groups to understand information requirements and give advice on effective presentation.
- Ensure minimal communication gap/lag between Management and all staff on new standards, policies, procedures etc.
- To edit/produce and plan house journal: Develop content and ensure effective and timely publication.
- Monitor staff trends and attitudes towards management and make recommendations to the Group Head on programs to endear staff to management and vice versa.
- Ensure that published content does not violate copyright laws
- Write copy for house magazine, staff intranet, email communication, social media handles, and other internal and external communication platforms.
- Devise and implement internal communication campaigns that support the company’s key objectives.
Requirements:
- Candidates must possess a good Honours degree from a recognized university in social sciences, Arts, Humanities, or other relevant fields.
- Candidates must have a cumulative experience of more than 8 years experience in a similar or related capacity, with a demonstrable track record of credible performance.
- Candidates should have the drive to work independently on a wide range of their department’s issues.
- Candidate should be exceptionally strong in oral and written communication.Â
- Candidate should possess creative and Interpersonal Skills – Should be a creative leader within their teams and company-wide.
- Candidate should have in-depth knowledge of strategic issues affecting brand building and customer experience
- Relevant experience working in the media and/or PR Consultancy; or experience in a similar role in structured organizations, would be an added advantage
- Should be a top-class communicator
- Highly diligent and dependable
