Role Description
- Lead the development of investment policy statement, developing/ maintaining the financial plan for large institutional clients
- Monitor both the entity’s investment funds and client mandates, Pre-trade and Post-trade investment guideline exception investigation & resolution and works closely with portfolio managers and other partners to ensure portfolio compliance.
- Oversee development of compliance controls to mitigate compliance risk exposure of organisation
- Implement/execute strategic asset allocation decisions/parameters, determine processes for rebalancing efficiently, and adjust for tactical asset allocations tilts
- Develop procedures to review portfolios to ensure their security and consistency with client’s investment profile and applicable regulatory disclosures.
- Develop compliance policies on the range of financial planning activities undertaken by Coronation as it relates to client profiling and “know your client”
- Develop and execute an evaluation feedback framework to measure outcomes and make improvements on transactions as needed.
- Create and update Coronation Ecosystem standards for selecting and managing investments
- Coach others on best practices in investment selection and management
- Drive development, oversight, and optimization of a flexible and evolving investment platform by Identifying and addressing areas of weakness on all investment opportunities
- Determine strategic asset allocation recommendations in consideration of current market environment.
- Oversee the selection processes to identify suitable investment opportunities to meet the long-term financial goals and risk tolerance of the entity and its clients.
- Ensure periodic audit of risk management processes for relevance and adherence to current laws and regulations
- Develop frameworks for portfolio and investment risk measurement and management
- Oversee the identification and use of benchmarks, and track the relative and absolute performance of the firm’s own portfolios
- Ensure that risk mitigation policies have a proper foundation in strategy and policy and portfolio risk modelling
- Generate periodic reports and papers with actionable themes based on research that support investment decision making and investment portfolio optimization
- Demonstrate expert knowledge of investment products and strategies in partnering with internal teams to develop and execute investment strategies tailored to suit the client’s needs.
- Develop Investment Policy Statement to define the plan for success of the portfolio.
- Develop detailed operational plans and procedures for compliance programmes
- Maintain compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures to reflect changing regulatory requirements and organisational compliance strategies.
- Develop frameworks and criteria for industry profiling and segmentation
Qualifications
- Must possess a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting and Finance or any elated degree.
- A master’s degree in business or finance will be an added advantage.
- Professional certification in finance and or accounting is an added advantage.
- At least ten (10) years’ relevant work experience.
- Experience in an investment bank would be an added advantage.

- Possess in-depth understanding of investment market analysis and can weigh strengths and weaknesses, opportunities, and threats across the full spectrum of investments.
- Ability to forecast future state of the market; anticipate economic conditions and provide strategic insight on how to mitigate impact on the organisation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must possess extensive knowledge about available investment vehicles
- Excellent research and analytical skills
- Must be client-facing
- Knowledge of investment trends.
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
