Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare meals to high standards while ensuring compliance with hygiene and food safety regulations.
  • Maintain strict hygienic conditions at all times to prevent contamination and foodborne illnesses.
  • Engage with residents to understand their dietary needs and menu preferences.
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of the residence kitchen, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Monitor and maintain kitchen facilities, equipment, and appliances to guarantee functionality and safety.
  • Enforce safety and security procedures for all kitchen activities and assets.
  • Supervise the cleanliness and organization of the entire kitchen environment.
  • Generate daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly reports on residence kitchen activities for management.
  • Ensure effective inventory control and coordinate procurement of kitchen supplies when necessary.

 

Requirements:

  • Culinary degree, certification, or relevant qualification in hospitality, catering, or related field.
  • 1-2 years of proven experience as a chef, kitchen manager, or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene regulations, and nutritional standards.
  • Excellent cooking and menu planning skills tailored to diverse dietary needs.
  • Ability to manage kitchen staff, schedules, and workflows effectively.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in reporting and documentation.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills for liaising with residents and management.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain high standards consistently.
