Job summary
We're a newly opened restaurant in Surulere. We're seeking for immediate employment the services of an experienced Head Chef. The Head Chef will be responsible for the daily overall management of restaurant's kitchen operations
Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing daily food preparation and ensuring that every dish that leaves the kitchen meets established quality standards.
- Conceptualisation and design of menus and recipes, and appropriate pricing of products
- Hiring, training, and mentoring kitchen staff, creating duty roasters, and delegating tasks to ensure smooth, efficient service
- Monitoring of food and labour costs, minimising of waste, and managing of kitchen inventory
- Ensuring that all kitchen operations strictly adhere to the highest food hygiene, cleanliness, health, and safety standards
- Coordinating with management and other departments.
Requirements:
- A formal culinary school certificate/diploma/degree
- Minimum of 6 years of progressive kitchen experience
- Extensive knowledge of cooking techniques and flavour profiles
- Ability to lead and motivate staff, resolve conflicts, and foster a collaborative kitchen environment
- Ability to multitask, prioritise, and remain calm under extreme pressure during busy hours.
- Excellent organizational, team-building, and communication skills
