Job summary
We are seeking an experienced Head of Business Development to drive revenue growth, corporate client acquisition, strategic partnerships, and market expansion. The ideal candidate will lead sales initiatives, manage key accounts, and deliver business growth within the health insurance sector.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement business development strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets.
- Identify, pursue, and secure new corporate, government, and institutional accounts.
- Drive enrolment growth across private, public, and NHIA-related health insurance schemes.
- Lead contract negotiations, proposal development, and business presentations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, brokers, regulators, and strategic partners.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging business opportunities.
- Develop and execute client retention and account management strategies.
- Coordinate marketing and brand visibility initiatives that support business growth.
- Prepare periodic business performance, sales, and market intelligence reports.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the Business Development team to achieve departmental objectives.
- Collaborate with Operations, Provider Management, Claims, and Customer Service teams to ensure excellent client experience.
- Represent the organization at industry events, stakeholder engagements, and networking forums.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Insurance, Healthcare Management, Public Health, or any related field.
- An MBA or a relevant postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in Business Development, Sales, Marketing, Relationship Management, or Corporate Sales.
- At least 3 years in a senior leadership or management position.
- Previous experience within an HMO, Insurance Company, Healthcare Organization, Financial Institution, or related sector is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated success in achieving revenue targets and securing high-value corporate accounts.
