Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions to teenagers on academic, emotional, social, and behavioral issues.
- Assess students' needs and develop appropriate intervention and support plans.
- Guide students in making informed academic, career, and personal development decisions.
- Identify students experiencing emotional, behavioral, or mental health challenges and provide appropriate support or referrals.
- Develop and facilitate workshops on topics such as self-esteem, leadership, study skills, career planning, conflict resolution, and emotional intelligence.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and school administrators to support students' overall well-being and academic success.
- Maintain confidential student records and prepare counseling reports where required.
- Monitor students' progress and evaluate the effectiveness of counseling interventions.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Stay informed on emerging trends, best practices, and safeguarding policies related to adolescent development and mental health.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Guidance & Counselling, Psychology, Education, Social Work, or a related discipline. A Master's Degree is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience providing counseling services to teenagers or young adults.
- Professional certification or membership with a recognized counseling or psychology body is an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of adolescent psychology, child development, and mental health support.
- Excellent communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Strong conflict resolution, crisis intervention, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience organizing youth development, mentoring, or life skills programs is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and report writing.
- Passion for youth empowerment, personal development, and student success.
