Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counselling sessions to teenagers on academic, emotional, social, behavioral, and personal matters.
- Assess students' needs and develop appropriate support and intervention plans.
- Provide academic and career guidance to help teenagers make informed decisions about their education and future careers.
- Identify students experiencing emotional, behavioral, or social difficulties and provide appropriate counselling or referrals.
- Develop and facilitate programs on self-esteem, leadership, study skills, emotional intelligence, communication, and life skills.
- Work closely with parents, teachers, school management, and other relevant stakeholders to support students' development.
- Monitor students' progress and maintain accurate and confidential counselling records.
- Handle sensitive situations professionally and escalate serious concerns to the appropriate authority when necessary.
- Promote a safe, supportive, respectful, and inclusive environment for teenagers.
- Prepare counselling reports and provide recommendations based on observed student needs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Guidance & Counselling, Psychology, Education, Social Work, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years' experience in counselling, mentoring, youth development, or a related role.
- Professional certification or membership with a recognized counselling/psychology association is an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of adolescent development and teenage behavioural issues.
- Excellent communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong empathy, patience, emotional intelligence, and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
- Experience in career guidance, mentoring, life-skills training, or youth development is an added advantage.
- Good report-writing and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work effectively with teenagers, parents, teachers, and management.
