evenTickit is Nigeria's modern event discovery and ticketing platform. We help event organizers of all sizes — DJs, promoters, concert producers, and corporate event teams — create and sell tickets in minutes. And we give attendees the simplest way to discover and book the events they love.
We are six months into launch, growing fast, and building the infrastructure that will make evenTickit the go-to name for event ticketing across Nigeria. We are a lean, ambitious team building something that genuinely matters for the Nigerian event economy — and we are looking for sharp, hungry people to grow with us.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a Growth & Strategy Associate to join the evenTickit team. This is a hands-on, commercial execution role designed for someone early in their career who is analytical, organised, and wants to develop real business skills — fast.
You will work directly with the founding team on the things that actually drive the business forward: researching the market, building outreach pipelines, identifying funding opportunities, and tracking what's working. This is not a background role — your work will have direct visibility and real impact from day one.
This is an early-career commercial role built for someone who is analytical, hungry, and wants to develop real business skills fast. The Growth & Strategy Associate will support and execute evenTickit's commercial expansion — conducting research, building outreach pipelines, identifying grant opportunities, and tracking growth performance. They will work directly with the founding team and have genuine visibility and ownership from day one.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Market Research & Analysis
- Conduct structured research on the Nigerian event ticketing market — competitor mapping, pricing analysis, market sizing, and gap identification
- Monitor competitor activity, industry news, and trends relevant to evenTickit's growth
- Support the development of positioning and go-to-market documentation based on research findings
- Assess new city or vertical expansion opportunities by gathering and structuring relevant market data
- Prepare clear, well-structured research reports and presentations for the founding team
Grants & Funding Support
- Research and map relevant grant, fellowship, and funding opportunities — Nigerian government schemes, pan-African tech funds, startup accelerators, and international development programmes
- Support the preparation and submission of grant applications and funding proposals
- Track application deadlines, submission requirements, and reporting obligations
- Maintain an organised record of all identified opportunities and their status
Partnership Outreach & Business Development Support
- Build and maintain a prospecting list of event organizers, venues, entertainment companies, and potential institutional partners
- Support direct outreach — drafting messages, scheduling calls, and following up consistently
- Assist in preparing partnership decks, proposals, and supporting materials
- Track the status of all outreach and pipeline activity in the CRM
- Assist in onboarding new partners and organizers once agreements are in place
Growth Analytics & Reporting
- Help set up and maintain simple dashboards to track organizer acquisition, conversion rates, and channel performance
- Collect and organise data from social media platforms, the website, and internal records
- Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports for the founding team
- Identify patterns and anomalies in the data and flag findings with clear context
- Support the design and tracking of simple growth experiments
Non-Negotiables
- Strong written communication — can draft a clear email, a research summary, and a professional proposal
- Organised and disciplined — tracks tasks, meets deadlines, and follows through without being chased
- Analytical mindset — comfortable reading data, spotting patterns, and structuring findings
- Self-starter — proactive, curious, and willing to figure things out independently when needed
- Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets, and PowerPoint or Google Slides
Strong Advantages
- 1–3 years of experience in business development, research, marketing, or a commercial role
- Exposure to the Nigerian startup, tech, or event ecosystem
- Experience using a CRM tool — any (HubSpot, Notion, Airtable, even a well-organised spreadsheet)
- Awareness of the African startup funding landscape — TEF, Google for Startups, etc.
- Degree or coursework in Business, Economics, Marketing, or a related field

- Commercially curious — genuinely interested in how businesses grow and how deals get done
- Detail-oriented — takes pride in producing work that is accurate and well-presented
- Resilient — handles rejection in outreach without losing momentum
- Ambitious — wants to grow fast and sees this role as the start of a commercial career
