Job Description/Requirements


  • As a leader in the consultancy department, the Group Head - Consulting Services​ develops sustainable goals for the department and plays a major role in the development of the departmental vision.
  • The Group Head - Consulting Services​ directly provides the business’s clients with high value consultancy services, identifying their needs and requirements and relaying this information to product/project management. He additionally keeps up to date with the current trajectory and gaps in on-going business projects.
  • The Group Head - Consulting Services​ works with senior management and stakeholders within the business to identify the best strategic models for on-going business processes. He also liaises with both junior and senior inhouse consultancy teams in order to share best practices and develop strategic approaches that catalyze change within the business.

Objectives and Responsibilities:

  • Leadership/Supervisory Role: The Group Head - Consulting Services​ is, primarily, a leader in the inhouse consulting department and is in charge of overseeing all the activities of the junior inhouse consulting teams. In this leadership position, the Group Head - Consulting Services​ is also responsible for the development of the business’s vision, strategy, and consulting solutions to be applied by the inhouse consulting teams.
  • The Group Head - Consulting Services​ is responsible for overseeing strategy implementation, project management, and change management in order to meet the clients’ needs, enabling subsequent achievement of business goals.
  • The Group Head - Consulting Services​ works with senior inhouse consultants in finding solutions for engagements, for example, in redesigning consumer processes, improving working capital, designing roles, and reducing costs. In this capacity, it is the Group Head - Consulting Services​’s duty to implement solutions/ recommendations that ensure that the consumers receive necessary assistance and that business projects and programs are managed and executed as effectively as possible.
  • In his leadership capacity, the Group Head - Consulting Services​ also trains junior inhouse consulting teams in acquiring consulting skill-sets, acting as a mentor, and essentially preparing them for taking up his responsibilities in the future.
  • Project Management/Strategy: The Group Head - Consulting Services​ advises departments and their management on the proper utilization of resources. He delivers transformation projects and oversees the design, delivery, and quality of projects/programs and solutions across the business. He further monitors the progress and raises the bar for the inhouse consultancy team to deliver unique and out of the box solutions.
  • The Group Head - Consulting Services​ provides practical solutions to business issues by identifying any gaps and inefficiencies in the current business processes through interviewing consumers, management teams, employees, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Customer Relations/Consultancy: The Group Head - Consulting Services​ liaises with the department heads and keeps them informed on the progress of projects and programs. Also offers high-value consultancy services, which surpass the capabilities of standard support teams. This interaction is necessary in order to source information on consumers’ needs and requirements, which will influence and inform business’s strategy and approaches.
  • The Group Head - Consulting Services​ identifies consumer issues and forms hypotheses and solutions. Armed with the information gathered from the consumers, the Group Head - Consulting Services​ converts existing project/product issues into solutions, implements necessary changes, and oversees projects/programs alongside management and project management from beginning to end.
  • Collaboration: The Group Head - Consulting Services​ works with all departments and assists in the advancement of key projects both promptly and efficiently. The candidate works with product and project development teams imparting his knowledge on consumer needs, which influences project and product strategies that suit the consumers, leading to enhanced revenue generation and profitability. The Group Head - Consulting Services​ works with top management across the business leading specific issues concerning organizational change and commercial excellence.
  • Analytics: The Group Head - Consulting Services​ also plays an analytical role where he conducts research and data collection in order to understand both consumer and business needs. In this capacity, the Group Head - Consulting Services​ provides practical solutions to business issues through the identification of gaps and inefficiencies in the business’s projects and programs.
  • The Group Head - Consulting Services​ translates data-driven consumer and business analyses into concrete solutions and ultimately rolls these solutions out across the entire business. It is also his duty, at this capacity, to prepare reports and recommendations for senior management, project management, and stakeholders as well as informative materials and guides for clients - Internal and external.
  • Knowledge: The Group Head - Consulting Services​ keeps the inhouse consulting department abreast of consumer-specific industry trends and best practices, which informs the business’s strategic approaches and ultimately leads to consumer satisfaction and, subsequently, the enhanced generation of revenue and profit for the business. The Group Head - Consulting Services​ also runs focus groups and facilitates workshops that address consumer concerns and queries.
  • Other Duties: The Group Head - Consulting Services​ performs similar duties as he deems fit for the proper execution of his duties, and duties as delegated by the Director Inhouse Consulting, the Chief Business


  • ​Education: The Group Head must have a master’s degree (Phd preferred) in Marketing, Sales, Economics, Business, Business Administration, Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Design, or any other related field. An equivalent of the same in working experience is also acceptable for the position.
  • Experience: The candidate for this position must have had at least 15 years of working experience in an senior consultancy capacity, preferably working as a senior inhouse consultant in a fast-paced, complex, and dynamic environment. The candidate must also have had successful experience in management or project management, where he gave useful consultations focused on business analysis and worked directly with the consumers.
  • The candidate will also demonstrate commercial expertise specifically in marketing, sales, commercial operations, and so forth. The candidate must also demonstrate experience designing and implementing successful business strategies, leading to enhanced revenue generation and profitability for the business.
  • A suitable candidate will also have experience in influencing senior management and stakeholder decisions in conflict management, and in conveying information that guarantees that management has transparency on the underlying project/program issues as well as potential solutions. A Group Head​ - Consulting will also need to have had experience successfully leading in consultancy as well as extensive experience leading cross-functional projects in a matrix business setting.
  • Communication Skills: Communication skills for the Group Head​ - Consulting ​must be exceptional, both in written and in verbal form. Communication skills will be important in his leadership position, the clarity with which he conveys information and instructions will be a great determinant of the performance of the junior inhouse consulting team. Communication skills will also be imperative in his regular interactions with management, project/product/program management, and key stakeholders.
  • The Group Head​ - Consulting ​ will also be required to draw regular reports and recommendations for management and project/product management as well as informative materials and guides for the consumers. These reports and materials must be clear, engaging, easy-to-understand, and tailored to suit each unique group.
  • Ms Office: A candidate for the position must additionally demonstrate proficiency in the use of Ms Word, Ms Excel, and PowerPoint, which will all be necessary for the creation of both visually and verbally engaging reports and informative materials for management, project/product management, stakeholders, and consumers.
  • Analytical Skills: The Group Head​ - Consulting ​ must possess exceptionally strong conceptual and analytical skills and demonstrate confidence working with figures and large data sets. The candidate will have an ability to translate raw information and data into actionable insights and to perform basic data analyses such as performance analyses, consumer behavior analyses, and competitive analyses.
  • Interpersonal Skills: A candidate for this position will be helpful, service-oriented, and consumer-oriented, be self-assured and confident, be a team player, have an ability to influence and drive senior management and stakeholders, and have a positive can-do attitude. The candidate will also be highly organized, have an ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks and meet tight deadlines, have exceptional problem solving skills, and have an ability to stay calm in times of uncertainty and stress, inspiring the same in his juniors, project/product/program management, and consumers.
  • Leadership/People Skills: The Group Head​ - Consulting ​ has to demonstrate great leadership skills, portraying an ability to influence senior management and stakeholders within a business. The candidate must also be an approachable and relatable individual who inspires trust and confidence in consumers and senior management, which will enable them to readily follow in his directives and trust in his insights and judgments.
