Role Title: Group Finance & Performance Leader (FP&A, Strategy & Capital Management)
Location: Lagos, Nigeria.
ROLE SUMMARY
The role sits within the Group CFO Office and is responsible for transforming financial data into strategic insights that guide profitability, capital efficiency, and long-term value creation.
This is a leadership role requiring strong experience in financial planning, performance management, capital strategy, and business partnering within a financial services environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Group Financial Leadership & Performance Strategy
Own and drive the Group’s financial performance management framework.
Lead analysis of revenue, cost, profitability, and ROE across subsidiaries.
Identify performance gaps and lead corrective financial strategies.
Provide actionable insights to improve group-wide financial efficiency.
2. Financial Planning, Forecasting & Strategic Modelling
Lead group budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes
Develop advanced financial models for strategic decision-making
Lead scenario planning and stress testing across business lines
Ensure alignment of financial plans with Group strategic objectives
3. Capital Allocation & Investment Decision Support
Evaluate capital deployment opportunities across businesses and initiatives
Lead financial assessment of investment proposals, expansion plans, and new ventures
Drive ROI, NPV, and risk-return analysis for strategic decisions
Provide capital allocation recommendations to ExCo and Investment Committees
4. Executive Decision Support & Business Partnering
Act as a key advisor to the Group CFO and senior leadership team
Support strategic decisions on pricing, expansion, cost optimisation, and restructuring
Translate financial insights into clear business actions and recommendations
5. Group Reporting & Board-Level Insights
Lead preparation of executive dashboards, board reports, and management packs
Present key financial insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership
Ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency of Group financial narratives
REQUIREMENTS
1) 10–15 years of progressive experience in:
- FP&A leadership
- Strategic finance or corporate finance
- Banking finance / fintech finance leadership
- Management consulting (financial services focus)
- Investment analysis / business strategy roles
2) Core Technical Expertise in:
- Financial modelling (advanced Excel)
- Capital allocation & investment analysis
- Budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning
- Performance management systems
- Executive reporting & board communication
3) Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- ACA / ACCA / CFA strongly preferred
- MBA or MSc Finance is an advantage.
