Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Food preparation and cooking: Season, prepare,
and grill a variety of meats, vegetables, and other food items according to
recipes and customer requests. Ensure all items are cooked to the correct
temperature and time.
- Quality control: Monitor food quality and
consistency. Taste and evaluate food before serving to ensure it meets
standards.
- Station and equipment management: Maintain a clean, organised, and sanitised grill station. Clean and sanitise all grilling equipment regularly. Monitor equipment temperature and report any malfunctions.
- Food safety and sanitation: Follow all food
safety and sanitation regulations, including proper food handling, storage, and
rotation. Discard expired food items.
- Inventory and restocking: Monitor stock levels of
ingredients and supplies, such as proteins, spices, and other materials. Report
shortages and replenish supplies as needed.
- Teamwork and communication: Collaborate
effectively with other kitchen staff and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth
and timely service, and communicate clearly with coworkers to ensure the correct
order is served to customers.
- Customer service: Handle customer queries and complaints related to grilled items.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining grilling equipment.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for long periods.
