Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in government and civic education in line with the approved curriculum.
- Explain government structures, democratic principles, citizenship, civic duties and related topics in a clear, age-appropriate manner.
- Prepare lesson notes, teaching materials, assignments, tests and examinations.
- Assess students’ progress, provide constructive feedback and keep accurate records of academic performance.
- Maintain a positive and disciplined classroom environment while encouraging participation, critical thinking and responsible citizenship.
Requirements:
- B.Sc. or B.Ed. in Political Science, Social Studies or Public Administration.
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant teaching experience, preferably at the secondary-school level.
- Good knowledge of government and civic education subjects and relevant curriculum requirements.
- Strong classroom management, communication and student-engagement skills.
- Ability to prepare lesson plans, set and grade assessments, maintain records and work collaboratively with other members of staff.
Remuneration: NGN 80,000 – 90,000 Monthly
