Responsibilities:
Strategic & Business Leadership
- Develop and execute short-, medium-, and long-term business strategies aligned with company goals.
- Translate corporate objectives into actionable operational plans and performance targets.
- Drive market expansion, product portfolio growth, and operational scalability.
- Provide leadership and direction to senior management and departmental heads.
Manufacturing & Operations Management
- Oversee IVD manufacturing operations, including formulation, assembly, labelling, packaging, and release.
- Ensure efficient production planning, capacity utilisation, and cost control.
- Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure proper maintenance, calibration, and qualification of production equipment.
Quality Management & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with applicable regulatory and quality standards, including ISO 13485 (Medical Devices QMS), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Local regulatory authority requirements (e.g., NAFDAC, FDA, CE-IVDR where applicable)
- Provide oversight of quality assurance and quality control functions.
- Ensure timely regulatory submissions, audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
- Foster a strong quality culture across the organisation.
Research, Product Development & Validation
- Support R&D teams in product development, validation, and technology transfer.
- Ensure robust design controls, risk management, and product lifecycle management.
- Oversee scale-up from pilot to commercial production.
- Ensure post-market surveillance and customer feedback integration.
Supply Chain & Procurement
- Oversee procurement of raw materials, reagents, consumables, and packaging materials.
- Ensure supplier qualification, performance monitoring, and continuity of supply.
- Manage inventory to balance cost efficiency and production reliability.
- Mitigate supply chain risks, including import/export and cold-chain requirements.
Sales, Marketing & Customer Interface
- Support sales and marketing strategies through reliable production and product availability.
- Engage key customers, distributors, and strategic partners.
- Ensure customer requirements are translated into production and quality specifications.
- Oversee customer complaints handling and product recalls, where applicable.
Financial Management & Performance
- Develop and manage operational budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor production costs, margins, and profitability.
- Approve major expenditures and capital investments.
- Ensure accurate management reporting and financial controls.
People Management & Organizational Development
- Build, lead, and retain a high-performing multidisciplinary team.
- Ensure compliance with HR policies, labour laws, and ethical standards.
- Promote training, competency development, and succession planning.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Health, Safety & Environmental Management
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
- Oversee biosafety, chemical safety, and waste management practices.
- Promote a safe working environment and environmental sustainability.
Governance, Risk & Stakeholder Management
- Identify operational, regulatory, and business risks and implement mitigation plans.
- Report regularly to the Board or Executive Management.
- Ensure adherence to corporate governance and internal control frameworks.
- Represent the company with regulators, auditors, and external stakeholders.
