The Fundraiser / Grant Writer is responsible for identifying, developing, and securing grant funding and other fundraising resources to support the mission and programs of the Adewunmi Desalu Parkinson’s Foundation (ADPF). The role involves researching funding opportunities, writing compelling grant proposals, managing donor relationships

Responsibilities:

Grant Research, Writing, and Identification:

  • Research and identify local and international funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations, bilateral donors, and corporate entities.
  • Analyze donor priorities, funding trends, and eligibility criteria to align proposals with ADPF’s mission and programs.
  • Develop high-quality, persuasive grant proposals, concept notes, letters of inquiry, and funding applications.
  • Collaborate with program and finance teams to develop accurate budgets and compelling narratives.

 Grant Management and Coordination:

  • Track, write, and manage the entire grant submission process, ensuring compliance with deadlines and funder guidelines.
  • Maintain a comprehensive grants pipeline, including records of submitted, successful, declined, and pending proposals.
  • Coordinate post-award activities, including grant agreements, reporting schedules, and follow-up communications.
  • Monitor grant timelines and ensure all deliverables are met.

Donor and Partner Relationship Management:

  • Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with existing and prospective donors, foundations, and corporate sponsors.
  • Serve as a key liaison between ADPF and grant-making organizations.
  • Represent ADPF at donor meetings, networking events, and fundraising engagements.
  • Provide donors with timely updates, impact reports, and acknowledgements to strengthen trust and long-term partnerships.

Compliance, Reporting, and Accountability:

  • Ensure all grant-funded activities comply with donor guidelines and contractual obligations.
  • Prepare and submit timely narrative and financial reports in collaboration with program and finance teams.
  • Support audits, evaluations, and donor reviews as required.
  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for all grant-related activities.

Fundraising and Organizational Development:

  • Support the design and implementation of fundraising campaigns, including online and offline initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development of an annual fundraising and grant acquisition strategy aligned with ADPF’s strategic goals.
  • Provide management with insights on emerging funding opportunities and donor trends.
  • Support organizational growth by diversifying funding sources and strengthening revenue sustainability.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Nonprofit Management, Development Studies, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in grant writing and successful fundraising for nonprofit organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to research funding opportunities and develop competitive proposals.
  • Experience working with donor-funded projects is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of program budgeting and financial management is desirable.

  • Track and meet all grant submission deadlines and documentation requirements.
