Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and maintain high-performance backend APIs and services using Node.js frameworks such as Express, Fastify, or Nest.js.
- Design and implement intuitive and responsive mobile applications with React Native.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and other developers, to define, design, and ship new features.
- Integrate third-party services and APIs, including Firebase API services (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions, etc.).
- Ensure optimal performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications through rigorous testing and optimisation.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks, bugs, and performance issues.
- Contribute to maintaining code quality, organization, and automation through best practices and industry standards
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, frameworks, and industry trends, and share knowledge with the team.
Requirements:
- An HND in a relevant field with proven experience as a full-stack developer or similar role, with a strong command of JavaScript and TypeScript, including ES6+ syntax.
- Extensive experience with Node.js and frameworks such as Express, Fastify, or Nest.js for backend development.
- Solid experience with React Native for mobile application development.
- Familiarity with native mobile development languages like Objective-C and Kotlin is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with Firebase services (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions, etc.)
- Understanding of RESTful APIs, web services, and modern authentication mechanisms (e.g., JSON Web Tokens).
- Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and independently.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Knowledge of serverless architecture and cloud functions.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies and modern software development practices.
