Job summary
Showers Publishers is seeking an experienced Freelance Educational Editor to edit and proofread textbooks, workbooks, and educational manuscripts. The successful candidate will ensure that all content is clear, accurate, properly organised, and aligned with the Nigerian curriculum. This is a freelance, project-based role, and payment will be agreed upon.

Responsibilities:
- Edit and proofread educational manuscripts for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and sentence structure.
- Ensure that content is clear, accurate, well organised and suitable for the intended learners.
- Check manuscripts for consistency, proper formatting and curriculum alignment.
- Verify facts, examples, exercises and answers where necessary.
- Use Microsoft Word Track Changes and Comments to make corrections and provide feedback.
- Work closely with authors, graphic designers and members of the editorial team.
- Complete assigned projects within agreed deadlines.
Requirements:
- A degree in English, Education, Linguistics or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant editing or proofreading experience.
- Experience editing textbooks, workbooks, academic materials or educational content.
- Excellent command of written English.
- Good knowledge of the Nigerian educational curriculum.
- Strong research, fact-checking and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, especially Track Changes and Comments.
