SureGifts creates and sells vouchers that can be redeemed for retail products across Africa. We build end-to-end systems that generate, distribute, and redeem vouchers - helping businesses reward, motivate, and engage customers seamlessly.


Role Overview


You’ll be the MD’s trusted right hand, driving exceptional outcomes across the business. You won’t own everything from day one. Initial focus will be on a small number of high-impact workstreams aligned to the MD’s priorities.


Over time, you will take increasing ownership across key areas of the business — particularly where there is opportunity to improve execution, product or commercial outcomes. This is a high-trust, high-ownership role — success is defined by outcomes, not activity.


Key Responsibilities


1) Operational Execution & Process Improvement

  • Own implementation of new processes end-to-end — from mapping how things work today to building and embedding how they should work tomorrow.
  • Identify manual workflows and build automation solutions using modern tools (no-code, AI-assisted, or otherwise).
  • Lead team onboarding onto new tooling and ensure adoption sticks.
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement solutions that materially improve speed, cost or output quality.
  • Identify and improve key product and user journeys — from voucher purchase to redemption — identifying friction points and driving changes that improve conversion, usage and customer experience.

2) Data, Reporting & Finance Support

  • Sit alongside the MD in finance reviews and KPI sessions — and take action off the back of them.
  • Own high-impact commercial and operational workstreams — including product, pricing and user experience — that improve revenue, margin or cash flow.
  • Build and maintain trackers, dashboards and models that give the business clear visibility on the numbers that matter.
  • Support ad-hoc commercial analysis: revenue modelling, market sizing, opportunity assessment.

3) AI-First Ways of Working

  • Act as the internal champion for AI adoption — not just using tools yourself, but helping the broader team integrate them into daily work.
  • Build AI-driven workflows that improve internal operations and customer-facing experiences, with measurable impact on time, cost or output quality.


4) MD Office & Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Act as a proxy for the MD — own follow-ups, unblock issues and drive workstreams to completion.
  • Manage special projects end-to-end as assigned — from unclear brief to delivered outcome.
  • Prepare briefing materials, summaries and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work across SureGifts’ core levers: voucher generation, product, pricing and merchant growth.

Requirements

You’ve operated in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment — this could be a startup, consulting, operations, finance or building something yourself. You’re likely early in your career but have already taken on responsibility beyond your years and delivered real outcomes.

AI-native operator. You use Claude, ChatGPT and similar tools daily — not occasionally. You have concrete examples of AI-accelerated outputs. You have genuine curiosity about how AI is reshaping business and you’re already thinking about the implications.Numbers-comfortable. You can open a messy spreadsheet, orient yourself fast, and tell someone what it means. You have built trackers, models or forecasts from scratch. Analytical and data-driven — you use data to make decisions, not just report it.Equally strong at 10,000-foot strategy and 1-foot execution. You don’t consider anything beneath you and can easily context-switch. You finish things, follow up without being chased, and know the difference between a plan and a result.A self-starter who thrives in ambiguity. Adaptable, resourceful and biased towards action — you prioritise well and move fast without needing direction. Commercially aware: you think about revenue, margins and customer impact, not just tasks.Strong communicator, written and verbal. Able to synthesise complex information and present it clearly to any internal or external audience — from a finance review to a client meeting.Business Outcomes: You have built and implemented something tangible that improved a business outcome (not just analysis)

Nice to Have

Background in operations, strategy, consulting, finance or a BizOps / Chief of Staff type role — ideally with some exposure to a fast-growing startup.Hands-on with workflow and automation tools: Asana, Notion, Airtable, Zapier, Make or similar.Exposure to enterprise B2B environments — understanding how large organisations procure, approve and operate.Experience building reports, dashboards or business cases that influenced real decisions.

Working Style

You are a doer first: structured, proactive and comfortable operating close to senior leadership. You treat AI as a default accelerator, not an afterthought. You push for clarity when you don’t have it, hold yourself to outcomes not activities, and are self-aware enough to know when to ask for direction — and confident enough to move without it. You move with urgency and are uncomfortable with slow execution.
