Finance Officer

Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting and financial records.
• Process payments, receipts, invoices, expenses, and other financial transactions.
• Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Assist with project budgets, budget monitoring, and expenditure tracking.
• Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets and highlight significant variances.
• Maintain proper documentation for all financial transactions.
• Support payroll, statutory payments, and other routine financial obligations.
• Assist with cash-flow management and financial forecasting.
• Support financial reporting for donor-funded projects.
• Review supporting documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with financial policies.
• Assist with internal and external audits and provide requested financial documentation.
• Support procurement and vendor payment processes.
• Maintain financial filing systems and ensure appropriate document retention.
• Assist in strengthening financial controls, procedures, and reporting systems.
• Provide financial information and analysis to support management decision-making.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in accounting, finance, or financial administration.
• Professional accounting qualification or progress toward one, such as ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent, is an advantage.
• Good understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting or financial management software.
• Experience with project or donor-funded financial management is beneficial.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle financial information responsibly.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
