Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and systems to ensure effective management of funds.
- Oversee budget development and monitoring, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and donor requirements.
- Monitor cash flow and financial health, providing regular reports to management and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and donor guidelines.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for donors, management, and board members.
- Coordinate audits and ensure all financial records are maintained in accordance with auditing standards.
- Manage financial aspects of grants, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance.
- Work closely with program managers to track expenses and ensure proper utilization of grant funds.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations for grant proposals and project budgets.
- Conduct financial analysis, forecasting, and modeling to support strategic decision-making.
- Develop financial projections and scenarios for long-term planning and fundraising purposes.
- Train and mentor staff on financial management best practices, policies, and tools.
- Build the capacity of the finance team to effectively manage budgets, grants, and reporting requirements.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for financial inquiries from donors, partners, and regulatory agencies.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between finance and programs teams.
- Present financial information and insights to internal and external stakeholders clearly and engagingly.
- Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Establish internal controls and procedures to safeguard assets and prevent fraud or misuse of funds.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to nonprofit finance.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a BSC
- 2 years of previous experience in a similar role
