Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and systems to ensure effective management of funds.
  • Oversee budget development and monitoring, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and donor requirements.
  • Monitor cash flow and financial health, providing regular reports to management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and donor guidelines.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for donors, management, and board members.
  • Coordinate audits and ensure all financial records are maintained in accordance with auditing standards.
  • Manage financial aspects of grants, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance.
  • Work closely with program managers to track expenses and ensure proper utilization of grant funds.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations for grant proposals and project budgets.
  • Conduct financial analysis, forecasting, and modeling to support strategic decision-making.
  • Develop financial projections and scenarios for long-term planning and fundraising purposes.
  • Train and mentor staff on financial management best practices, policies, and tools.
  • Build the capacity of the finance team to effectively manage budgets, grants, and reporting requirements.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for financial inquiries from donors, partners, and regulatory agencies.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between finance and programs teams.
  • Present financial information and insights to internal and external stakeholders clearly and engagingly.
  • Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Establish internal controls and procedures to safeguard assets and prevent fraud or misuse of funds.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to nonprofit finance.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of a BSC
  • 2 years of previous experience in a similar role
