Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate financial records by processing daily transactions, journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
  • Process invoices, expense claims, receipts, and client billings while ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Monitor office expenses, company loans, investments, and financial commitments.
  • Perform regular reconciliation of bank accounts, ledgers, and financial records to ensure data accuracy.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, and Monthly Performance Reports (MPR).
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and financial statement preparation.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support business planning and commercial bids.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory obligations, including PAYE, VAT, WHT, CIT, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate audit activities and maintain organized financial documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Support payroll administration, statutory remittances, and regulatory reporting.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with vendors, suppliers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, financial policies, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other finance and accounting duties as assigned by Management.

‎Requirements:

  • ‎Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years' experience in finance and accounting roles.
  • Experience within a laboratory, healthcare, professional services, or related industry is an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks is mandatory.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Solid understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, tax compliance, payroll administration, and statutory remittances.
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax regulations, accounting principles, and financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Professional certification such as ICAN or ACCA is an added advantage but not mandatory.
