Finance & Accounts Officer

Responsibilities:

• Manage payroll and statutory deductions, working with HR to resolve changes and queries.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoices, payments, collections, vendor reconciliations, and ageing.
• Perform bank, cash, payroll, and balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Support month-end close and prepare routine financial and management reports.
• Track operating and campus expenses and support cash-flow monitoring.
• Manage applicable PAYE, VAT, WHT, pension, and other statutory filings and remittances.
• Maintain accurate accounting records, financial controls, approvals, and supporting documentation.
• Support audit preparation and finance activities across the Abuja and Enugu operations.

Requirements:

• Minimum of an HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
• Hands-on experience with payroll, AP/AR, reconciliations, expense management, and financial reporting.
• Experience supporting month-end close and preparing financial or management reports.
• Good working knowledge of IFRS and Nigerian tax, payroll, and statutory requirements.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• High integrity, confidentiality, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
• Good analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Requirements:

• ICAN (ACA), ACCA, ANAN, or progress toward a professional accounting qualification.
• Experience with QuickBooks, Sage, or similar accounting software.
• Multi-location or multi-entity finance experience.
• Audit or internal controls experience.
• Experience with ERP, HR, payroll, or financial management systems.
• Experience supporting business requirements, UAT/testing, data validation, or finance systems implementation.
