Fibre Operations Manager
Job summary
The Fibre Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and performance of fibre optic network infrastructure. This role ensures network reliability, service availability, and operational efficiency while leading technical teams and coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
- Oversee daily fibre network operations and maintenance activities.
- Ensure high network availability and performance standards.
- Monitor KPIs, SLAs, and operational metrics.
- Develop and implement operational processes and procedures.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and manage fibre technicians, engineers, and support staff.
- Allocate resources and manage shift schedules.
- Provide coaching, training, and performance evaluations.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Network Maintenance & Reliability:
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
- Manage fault response, outage resolution, and escalation processes.
- Ensure rapid troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Coordinate emergency restoration activities when required.
Project & Stakeholder Coordination:
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Engineering teams during new deployments and upgrades.
- Ensure smooth transition from project implementation to operations.
- Liaise with vendors, contractors, and service providers.
- Provide operational reports to senior management.
Quality, Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with telecom industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct operational audits and safety inspections.
- Maintain accurate operational documentation and reporting.
Budget & Performance Management:
- Manage operational budgets and control costs.
- Optimize resource utilization and operational efficiency.
- Identify cost-saving and process improvement opportunities.
Requirements:
- FOA / CFOT
- PMP (advantageous)
- OSHA or relevant safety certification
- Minimum qualification of BSc.
- 3 years of previous experience in a similar role
