Fiber Implementation Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Conduct fiber route surveys and network planning.
• Design and implement FTTx (Fiber-to-the-X) solutions.
• Coordinate and supervise fiber optic cable installation, splicing, and termination.
• Perform OTDR, power meter, and end-to-end fiber testing.
• Prepare as-built documentation, route maps, and technical reports.
• Troubleshoot and resolve fiber network faults and performance issues.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal project teams.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality (HSE/QA) requirements.
• Provide technical support during project implementation and commissioning.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree or HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in fiber optic implementation or telecommunications infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of FTTx, GPON, Metro Ethernet, and backbone fiber networks.
• Hands-on experience with fiber splicing, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in using OTDRs, Optical Power Meters, Fusion Splicers, and related fiber testing equipment.
• Ability to interpret network drawings and GIS/AutoCAD designs.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently and travel to project locations when required.
