Role Description The Fashion/Tailoring Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Abuja. This role supports the tailoring and fashion production process, including assisting with dressmaking, garment construction, and alterations. The assistant will help with fittings, take accurate measurements, and ensure clothing pieces meet design and quality standards. Day-to-day tasks include preparing materials, organizing fabrics and tools, maintaining a clean and safe workspace, and supporting the lead tailor or fashion designer in meeting production timelines. The role also involves interacting with clients, providing courteous service, and communicating clearly about fittings, adjustments, and delivery expectations.
Qualifications
- Candidates must be based at Lugbe, Abuja or its environs
- Candidates should possess strong technical skills in dressmaking and tailoring, including garment construction and alterations.
- Candidates should possess fitting and measurement skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in adjustments.
- Candidates should possess communication and customer service skills to interact professionally with clients and team members.
- Candidates should possess basic knowledge of fabric types, sewing tools, and garment care, with the ability to follow design instructions.
- Ability to work on-site in Abuja, stand for extended periods, and manage multiple tasks in a busy workshop environment.
- Strong organizational skills, reliability, and a commitment to quality and deadlines.
- Previous experience in a fashion, tailoring, or garment production setting is an advantage.
- Relevant vocational training or certification in fashion design, tailoring, or garment technology is beneficial.
