Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Production and Crop Management: Plan planting, irrigation, pest control, fertilization, and harvesting schedules based on soil and weather conditions.
- Livestock Care and Welfare: Monitor animal health, nutrition, breeding programs, and housing conditions, and coordinate with veterinarians as needed.
- Financial and Budgeting Operations: Develop annual budgets, track expenses, manage cash flow, and maintain accurate production and sales records.
- Workforce Leadership: Recruit, train, supervise, and schedule farm laborers, foremen, or seasonal crews, while tracking safety protocols.
- Equipment and Facility Maintenance: Oversee the upkeep and repair of tractors, harvesters, irrigation systems, barns, and fencing to prevent costly downtime.
- Supply Chain and Marketing: Purchase raw materials like seeds, feed, and fertilizers, and handle the sale or distribution of produce to markets, buyers, or co-ops.
- Regulatory and Environmental Compliance: Ensure adherence to local agricultural laws, food safety standards, environmental protections, and labor regulations.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in farm management, preferably in feed Production, Fish & Dog Farming.
- Stock processing skills such as Catfish, Dog handling, spawning, grading, and harvesting.
