Job summary

We are looking for a highly organized and technically-minded Facility Officer to oversee the maintenance, safety, and functionality of our physical infrastructure. The ideal candidate will ensure that our buildings and grounds are well-maintained, safe for staff and visitors, and operating at peak efficiency.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Routine Maintenance: Coordinate and supervise routine maintenance and repairs (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry) to ensure zero downtime.
  • Vendor Management: Supervise external contractors and service providers (e.g., cleaning crews, security, waste management) to ensure work is completed to the required standards.
  • Safety & Compliance: Conduct regular facility inspections to identify and resolve safety hazards. Ensure the building meets all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) regulations.
  • Utility Management: Monitor the consumption of utilities (water, electricity, diesel) and implement cost-saving measures.
  • Asset Tracking: Maintain an accurate inventory of facility assets and oversee the preventive maintenance schedule for all equipment.
  • Administrative Support: Maintain detailed records of repairs, service contracts, and facility-related expenses. Prepare weekly and monthly facility status reports.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Estate Management, Building Technology, Engineering (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical), or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3–4 years of experience in facility management or building maintenance.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) and safety codes.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize repairs, and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills to deal effectively with staff, tenants, and external contractors.
  • IT Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and facility management software
  • A "proactive" mindset (fixing things before they break).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • High level of integrity and accountability.
  • Availability to handle facility emergencies outside of standard business hours if necessary.
