Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Collect dirty bed sheets, pillowcases, towels, tablecloths, and staff uniforms from designated areas.
- Sort laundry according to colour, fabric type, and level of soiling.
- Operate washing machines, dryers, pressing machines, and other laundry equipment safely.
- Wash, dry, iron, fold, and package laundry items properly.
- Inspect washed items for stains, damage, or missing buttons.
- Report damaged laundry equipment and defective linen to the supervisor.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the laundry room.
- Handle guests' personal laundry carefully and ensure timely delivery.
- Use detergents, bleach, and other cleaning chemicals according to safety instructions.
- Keep accurate records of laundry received, washed, and delivered.
- Ensure that clean and dirty laundry are kept separately to prevent contamination.
- Follow hotel hygiene, safety, and operational procedures.
- Assist with stocktaking and proper storage of clean linen.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Laundry Supervisor.
Requirements:
- Minimum of secondary school education.
- Previous experience in hotel laundry operations is an advantage.
- Ability to operate laundry machines and pressing equipment.
- Good knowledge of laundry procedures and fabric care.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Honest, hardworking, reliable, and attentive to detail.
- Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
