Job summary

The Executive Assistant to the Executive Director is a high-trust role, providing executive, strategic, and operational support to the leadership of the organisation. The holder plays a key role in coordinating priorities, strengthening internal systems, and supporting alignment between leadership vision and day-to-day operations.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Provide executive-level support to the Executive Director, including managing priorities, workflows, and follow-through on key initiatives.
  • Prepare briefing materials, reports, presentations, and internal communications.
  • Coordinate cross-departmental projects, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Support operational systems, processes, and internal communication to promote clarity and accountability
  • Assist with board preparation, meetings, and follow-up on action items.
  • Support donor, partner, and stakeholder communications as delegated.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Model organisational values and support a collaborative and accountable workplace culture.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Master’s degree (MPA, MBA, MSW, or related discipline) preferred.
  • Experience in non-profit management, public administration, business administration, social sciences, or related fields is an advantage.
  • 3 years of progressively responsible professional work.
  • Experience supporting senior leadership, founders, or boards.
  • Experience in non-profit or mission-driven organisations.
  • Eexperience co-ordinating complex projects or organisational workflows.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and prioritisation skills.
  • High level of judgment, discretion, and reliability.
  • Ability to work effectively at strategic and operational levels.
  • Collaborative leadership style and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Openness to feedback, mentorship, and shared responsibility.
  • Clear alignment with the mission and values of the organization.


Remuneration: NGN 250,000
