Our client in the Oil & Gas sector is seeking a qualified and experienced Environmental Health Officer to oversee environmental health and safety compliance within the organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing environmental protection policies, ensuring occupational safety standards.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine and complaint-based inspections of facilities like restaurants, food manufacturers, housing, and public pools to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Investigate environmental health incidents, such as foodborne illnesses, infectious disease outbreaks, pest infestations, and pollution complaints.
- Monitor and test air, water, and soil quality, and analyze the results to identify potential hazards.
- Provide advice, information, and training to businesses, the public, and other agencies on environmental health and safety issues.
- Develop and implement environmental health programs and policies, and help create action plans for sustainable development.
- Analyze data related to environmental health and safety performance and use the findings to make recommendations and write reports.
Requirements:
- B.Sc. or HND in Environmental Health (registration as an Environmental Health Officer is mandatory)
- Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience
- Occupational Health & Safety Management System Lead Auditor Training
- Advanced Professional Certificate in Food Hygiene & Standards Control (preferred)
- Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET) required
- Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner (CIEH) certification is an added advantage
