Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver engaging English lessons that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of primary school students.
  • Assess and evaluate students' language proficiency, comprehension, and writing skills through classwork, assignments, and assessments.
  • Develop and implement course materials, including lesson plans, reading materials, and writing exercises, to enhance students' language acquisition and literacy skills.
  • Facilitate classroom discussions and activities that encourage active participation, critical thinking, and creative expression.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress, and communicate regularly with parents and school administrators regarding student performance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary teaching strategies and integrate language arts into other subject areas.
  • Provide individualized support and tutoring to students who require additional assistance in mastering English language skills.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that celebrates diversity and promotes mutual respect among students.
  • Stay abreast of current trends and best practices in English language teaching and participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • B.Ed, PGDE, in English Education, Bachelor's or Master's degree in English, Education, or a related field
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in English, Education, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience teaching English in a primary school setting.
  • Excellent command of the English language, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in language teaching methodologies and techniques, including literacy instruction and language acquisition strategies.
  • Ability to effectively utilize technology and multimedia resources to support English language learning.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes academic success and personal growth.
  • Creativity, adaptability, and enthusiasm for teaching and learning.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
