Responsibilities:
- Organize classroom lectures and coursework
- Teach basic English skills including reading, writing, and speaking
- Research new language teaching methods.
- Emphasize the rules of composition, grammar and sentence construction
- Teach students the correct pronunciation of words
- Teach students to think critically when studying literature and poetry
- Teach students the spelling of words and their meanings
- Engage students to ensure a lively classroom atmosphere
- Collaborate with teaching staffs and administrators to foster a good student experience
- Identify students with special requirements and create individualized plans
- Assign homework and interesting exercises
- Provide feedback based on workload and classroom behavior.
- Teaching some humanities-related subjects as highlighted in the Humanities subjects section across all classes.
Requirements:
- BA/B.Ed. in English language
- Previous experience as an English teacher
- Relevant teaching certification may be required.
- High proficiency in English
- Knowledge of various teaching methods
- Deep understanding of the Nigerian and British curricula for the upper primary.
- Exceptional organizational, listening and communication skills
- Dedication to students and education
- Proficient computer skills
- Strong multitasking abilities.
