Elevator Operator / Building Attendant

Responsibilities:

Elevator Operations:

• Operate the elevator safely and efficiently in accordance with approved operating procedures.
• Assist Workers and visitors in entering, exiting and using the elevator safely.
• Provide courteous assistance to elderly persons, persons with disabilities and visitors where required.
• Ensure elevator doors are clear and passengers are safely positioned before movement.
• Monitor elevator usage and discourage overloading or unsafe behaviour.
• Maintain a professional and welcoming attitude towards Staff and visitors.
• Provide basic directions and information about the building where required.
• Monitor the elevator for unusual sounds, vibration, door problems or other abnormalities.
• Immediately report elevator faults or safety concerns to the Facility Manager and Building Manager.
• Maintain an elevator operation/incident log where required.
• Cooperate with authorized elevator maintenance personnel during inspections and servicing.

Building Attendant / Janitorial Duties:

• Keep the elevator cabin clean, neat and presentable.
• Maintain cleanliness around entrances, elevator lobbies and high-traffic areas.
• Observe general building conditions and report unusual activities, hazards, or maintenance issues.
• Report damaged fixtures, leaking pipes, faulty lights, broken tiles, doors or other building defects observed during duties.
• Direct visitors to the appropriate office, floor or facility.

Requirements:

• Minimum of SSCE/WAEC or Equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant work in elevator operation, building attendant services, facility support etc.
• Basic computer literacy
