Job descriptions & requirements
- Assist in the development of design concepts, layouts, and visual assets for digital, print, environmental, and architectural applications.
- Aid the Lead Architect/Design Lead with all aspects of design development, from concept to completion.
- Ensure adherence to local authority codes, compliance requirements, and correct design standards.
- Produce blueprints, presentations, mock-ups, pinboards/mood boards, and client proposals.
- Meet with clients to identify requirements, advise on ideas, and incorporate feedback.
- Ensure production outputs align with approved designs.
- Act as a project manager, monitoring timelines and ensuring deliverables are completed on schedule.
- Coordinate design team meetings and subconsultant deliverables; document and track actions.
- Liaise with vendors, printers, contractors, suppliers, manufacturers, and statutory authorities.
- Review and ensure all construction and design drawings are fully coordinated before submissions.
- Maintain and organise design files, assets, and project documentation.
- Track issuance of drawings, specifications, and submissions to local authorities.
- Write and collate minutes of meetings, briefs, and reports for internal and client use.
- Ensure smooth progress and compliance for all authority submissions and certifications.
- Preparation of Bill of Quantities (BOQ).
- Uphold quality system procedures (QSP) and operational standards in all projects.
- Review design deliverables against standards, documenting gaps or required corrections.
- Ensure project teams and consultants meet agreed deadlines.
- Notify leadership of potential delays and agree on recovery programs.
- Collaborate with internal team members to ensure brand and design guidelines are consistently applied across all materials.
- Contribute ideas during brainstorming and creative sessions.
- Motivate and support team members to meet project deliverables.
- Conduct research on design trends, competitors, industry best practices, and emerging technologies.
- Recommend innovative ideas to improve project efficiency, creativity, and delivery quality.
- Support in organising training and knowledge-sharing sessions within the team.
- Liaise with site and post-contract teams to address design-related issues.
- Review subcontractor shop drawings and advise on amendments as per local authority regulations.
- Ensure timely issuance of “For Construction” drawings and documentation to site teams
- A minimum of a diploma in interior architecture or a related field.
- Must have completed NYSC.
- Proven minimum of 1 to 2 yrs experience in interior design projects (portfolio is required)
- Strong proficiency in design software and MS docs (Excel proficiency is a must have for this role)
- Excellent space planning and visualization skills
