Responsibilities
- Lead conceptual, detailed, and IFC designs for data centre projects (greenfield and upgrades).
- Develop layouts, SLDs, rack elevations, containment strategies, and capacity models.
- Specify and size UPS, generators, PDUs, cooling systems, and fire suppression solutions.
- Ensure designs meet uptime, redundancy, efficiency, and scalability requirements.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs (electrical, mechanical, ICT, civil, and security).
- Produce BoQs, technical specifications, and tender documentation.
- Review vendor submissions, drawings, and material approvals.
- Conduct design risk assessments, value engineering, and constructability reviews.
- Support commissioning plans and technical handover to operations.
- Ensure compliance with Uptime Institute Tier standards, TIA/ANSI guidelines, and local codes.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to design and project teams.
- Interface with clients, consultants, and contractors on technical matters.
- Work with design consultants, manage design coordination amongst specialized consultants, civil, electrical, mechanical, building services etc.
Qualifications
- BSc in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Services Engineering (Master’s is an advantage).
- 8–10 years’ experience in data centre or critical facility design.
- Strong proficiency in reading and producing technical drawings and schematics.
- Experience with design tools (AutoCAD/Revit) and capacity planning models.
- Demonstrated knowledge of redundancy architectures (N, N+1, 2N, 2N+1).
- Experience preparing tender packs, BoQs, and technical evaluations.
