Responsibilities:

Preventing Attacks: They use virtual locks like firewalls, encryption, and antivirus software to block hackers, malware, and ransomware from breaking into devices and networks.
Securing Data: They implement strict rules to control who can access, view, or modify sensitive data, keeping personal messages, passwords, and bank details safe from theft.
Monitoring and Responding: Systems and analysts constantly monitor network traffic for suspicious activity. If a breach occurs, they work to contain the damage, investigate the source, and restore systems.
Updating and Testing: They regularly update software to patch vulnerabilities and conduct ethical hacking (penetration testing) to find weak spots before malicious hackers do
Set up and manage a centralized security monitoring dashboard (such as the open-source platform Wazuh) to log and analyze system activity.
Real-Time Monitoring: A SOC Analyst will deploy a centralized monitoring system (a SIEM tool) to track all server activity around the clock.
