Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Assess electrical loads and prepare power-distribution requirements for IT equipment.
- Install and commission online UPS systems, protected distribution and maintenance bypass arrangements.
- Check cable sizing, circuit protection, surge protection, earthing, bonding and phase balance.
- Coordinate interfaces with utility supplies, generators and other approved power sources.
- Test battery autonomy, alarms, bypass operation, overload response and controlled shutdown procedures.
- Coordinate electrical and cooling requirements; diagnose faults and support planned maintenance.
- Maintain commissioning records, electrical documentation, maintenance schedules and escalation procedures.
Requirements:
- Degree or recognised professional qualification in Electrical Engineering.
- At least 5 years of commercial or critical-power engineering experience.
- Proven commissioning experience with online UPS systems of 20 kVA or greater.
- Experience supporting server rooms, data centres, telecommunications facilities or comparable critical installations.
- Sound knowledge of earthing, protective devices, bypass arrangements and generator/UPS coordination.
