Café Verde is looking for a skilled, organised, and passionate cook to prepare fresh, high-quality meals while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and consistency. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing sandwiches, salads, desserts, and other café menu items efficiently while ensuring every customer receives an excellent dining experience.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook all food items according to Café Verde recipes and standards.
  • Prepare ingredients before service, including washing, chopping, portioning, and storing food.
  • Assemble sandwiches, salads, and other light meals with consistency and attention to presentation.
  • Prepare desserts and assist with seasonal menu items when required.
  • Ensure food quality, freshness, and portion control at all times.
  • Monitor stock levels and inform management when ingredients need replenishing.
  • Properly store food and rotate stock using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic kitchen in compliance with food safety standards.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and properly maintained.
  • Minimise food waste and handle ingredients responsibly.
  • Work closely with the café team to ensure timely preparation during busy service periods.
  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Perform any other kitchen-related duties assigned by management.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a cook in a café, restaurant, or similar food establishment.
  • Ability to prepare a variety of breakfast items, sandwiches, salads, desserts, and light meals.
  • Good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety practices.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work weekends, public holidays, and flexible shifts when required.


Location: Lekki, Lagos


Remuneration: NGN 200,000 Monthly
